Privacy

This website

This site runs its own first-party visit analytics — no third-party trackers, no advertising networks, and no data ever shared or sold. For each visit we record the page viewed, the referring site (without query strings), the country and city reported by the network, coarse browser, device, and operating-system categories, interface language, viewport size, and engagement signals such as time on page, reading depth, and clicks on marked links. Your IP address is not stored.

A random identifier kept in your browser's local storage groups visits from the same browser. It contains nothing about you and is meaningless outside this site; clearing site data for koshell.ai resets it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded at all. To have recorded visits deleted, email hello@koshell.ai.

The launch-notification list

If you sign up to be notified at launch, your email address is used for exactly one thing: telling you when Koshell launches. It is never shared or sold beyond the processing described here.

The list is managed by Buttondown, a newsletter service that stores your address on our behalf and sends a confirmation email before you are subscribed (its own privacy policy applies to that processing). Every email includes an unsubscribe link; you can also email hello@koshell.ai and we will delete your address.

The product

Koshell itself is local-first and bring-your-own-key. Its privacy properties are described in Principles on the homepage.
